a. Getting to Bali

The most convenient way to go to Bali is by airplane. The only international airport in Bali is Ngurah Rai International Airport.

b. From Airport to hotel

1. Shuttle service
You can book a shuttle service direct to the hotel with a fare of USD 20 for one way and one person in the reservation form of Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel.

2. Taxi
You can take a public taxi to Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, which take around 8 minutes with a fare of approximately USD 8-10. It is recommended to take a taxi from the taxi counter available at the airport.


Indonesia is known as the “belt of emeralds across the equator”. Located in the tropical zone, Bali’s climate is hot and humid. The average temperatures range from 26°C at night and early morning to up to 30°C at noon. During September, it will be Sunny in Bali.


Banks are usually open on Monday through Friday from 08.30 am - 02.30 pm. Money changers are available at most major shopping centers, the airport, and major banks. Hotels and Shopping Centers normally accept major Credit Cards, such as Visa Card, American Express, Master Card, Dinners Club etc.

The Indonesian Currency is Rupiah (Rp). Approximately, USD 1.00 is equal to Rp. 13,318. (as of 20 March 2017). Exchange services are available for cash and travelers cheques in Banks, Hotels and Foreign Exchange Places. Bank Notes are issued in the following denominations:
Rp.1,000.-; Rp. 2,000.-; Rp. 5,000.-; Rp. 10,000.-; Rp. 20,000.-; Rp. 50,000.-; Rp. 100,000.- and in coins are Rp. 100.-; Rp. 200.-; Rp. 500.-; Rp. 1,000.-


The Host will assume no liability whatsoever for injury or damage to persons or property during the conference. Please make your own arrangements for health insurance and any other necessary insurance that might be required.

Voltage & Frequency

The standard voltage in Bali - Indonesia is 220V at 50Hz with two plugged cord.


The native language of Bali is Indonesia (bahasa) but many people in Bali are fluent in English, particularly in the interesting area/tourism destination.

In Indonesia, the international telephone access code is +62. Most hotels will charge fees for local and long-distance calls made from guest rooms. Many hotels are equipped with high speed cable or wireless internet connection (a charge may be applied), and some hotels have business centre which provide you with fax and copy services.
For delegates who anticipate using their phones often or who will be staying in Bali for an extended period of days, it may be less expensive to buy a local SIM card which is available at most stores

Visa Regulation

Foreign nationals entering Indonesia are generally required to have a valid passport and a Indonesian visa assigned by overseas branch of Indonesian embassy or consular offices. It is recommended that the participant make immediate inquiries regarding visa requirements with their nearest participant Indonesian Embassy or Consulate. a. Free Visa

In accordance with the Presidential Decree No. 21 2016 of The Republic of Indonesia, citizens from 169 countries are eligible for enter and remain in Indonesia without a visa. This Visa free facilities are valid for 30 days, are non-extendable and cannot be transferred into any other type of stay permit. The visa exemption facility can be used for tourism, family visit, social visit, art and cultural, government duty, to giving lecture or attend a seminar, attend a meeting held by head office or representative office in Indonesia, or transit. To acquire this, you must be in possession of a Passport that is valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival, and have proof (tickets) of onward or return passage. b. Visa on Arrival (VoA)

This visa can be obtained directly when you arrive at certain airports and seaports in Indonesia,Visa on Arrival is neither a work visa nor a visit visa. Therefore, it can not be extended or converted into another immigration permit. The maximum stay permitted is thirty (30) days . The general requirements for visa on arrival are:
1. The applicant’s passport must be valid for at least 6 (six) months from the date of entry.
2. Return/Trough ticket.
3. Fees: 30 (thirty) days US$ 35.
