Description

This draft Mexican Official Standard (NOM) establishes the main mandatory technical and metrological characteristics for pressure gauges, negative pressure gauges and positive-negative pressure gauges with elastic sensing elements and indirect reading devices with a view to measuring the pressure and/or negative pressure of liquids, vapours and gases.  	This draft Standard specifies in particular the legal metrological requirements for instruments the mechanical measurement process of which transmits the elastic deformation of the sensing element directly to the dial, which has a pointer and a graduated scale in legal pressure units.  	This draft Standard applies to instruments with a measuring range of 0.1 MPa to 1,000 MPa; indicating and recording pressure gauges, vacuum gauges and pressure-vacuum gauges are covered by Mexican Standard (voluntary) NMX-CH-3-1993-SCFI, set out therein. 	This draft Standard is in partial conformity with International Guideline R-101-1991, Indicating and recording pressure gauges, vacuum gauges and pressure-vacuum gauges with elastic sensing elements (ordinary instruments), of the International Organization of Legal Metrology (IOLM).
