El reglamento busca subsanar la inducción a error al consumidor en la adquisición de los refrigeradores de uso doméstico que se comercializan en el país, que expresan la capacidad de almacenamiento en diferentes unidades de volumen, situación que contraría el Sistema Internacional de Unidades, el cual fue adoptado en Colombia, el reglamento contiene: Definiciones, Información en el rotulado, Procedimiento de verificación, Vigilancia y control.
