Description
The draft regulation specifies requirements on the design and equipment of towed devices, trailers designed to be pulled in a maximum speed of 50 km/h and terrain trailers. The new regulation replaces the existing regulation VVFS 1993:17. The basic rules regarding design and equipment of vehicles in the former Vehicle Decree (1972:595) and Off-road Vehicle Decree (1972:594) have been incorporated in the regulations. The regulation contains provisions regarding new as well as old vehicles which have been brought into use with regard to the transitional provisions given in the Vehicle Decree. Updated requirements have been introduced on brakes, tyres, lighting, direction indicator lamps and coupling devices.
