This draft Mexican Official Standard (NOM) establishes the maximum energy consumption limits for household refrigerators and freezers using hermetic motor-driven compressors, specifies the test methods for determining such energy consumption and the total refrigerated volume, and stipulates the particulars for inclusion on the energy consumption label.  	This draft Standard applies to household refrigerators of up to 1,104 cubic decimetres (39 cubic feet) and household freezers of up to 850 cubic decimetres (30 cubic feet) using hermetic motor-driven compressors marketed in Mexico.  	Finally, the purpose of this draft Standard is to update NOM-015-ENER-1997, Energy Efficiency of Household Refrigerators and Freezers.  Limits, Test Methods and Labelling.
