Description

This Mexican Official Standard establishes the general provisions and specifications for the construction, reconstruction and reconditioning of containers and packaging used to transport hazardous substances, materials and wastes and the test methods to which they are subject.   Within its ambit, this Standard is mandatory for shippers, carriers, manufacturers of containers and packaging and persons engaged in the construction, reconstruction and reconditioning of containers and packaging used to transport hazardous substances, materials and wastes on land communication routes.  This Standard does not apply to containers and packaging used to transport Class 7 (radioactive) materials.   This Standard is equivalent to Chapter 6 of the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations (the "Orange Book"), Eleventh revised edition, United Nations, New York and Geneva, 1999.
