Description

Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) proposes to enforce TIS 19002545(2002) Base Oils:  Paraffinic as a mandatory standard.  This standard classifies base oils into 5 categories i.e. Solvent neutral 60, 150, 500, 600 and Brite stock 150.  It does not cover paraffinic base oils Group II and 111 and specifies general requirements (i.e. copper corrosive, acidity (mg of KOH/g of sample), carbon sludge, ASTM colour, flash point, pour point, viscosity index, viscosity, ash content, sulphur content, water content, polycyclic aromatic and evaporation loss). Each container or attached document of paraffinic base oils shall bear at least number, letter or mark clearly and legibly indicating the followings: (1)	The word "paraffinic base oils"; (2)	Type and symbol; (3)	Viscosity temperature 40°C or 100°C; (4)	Net content in dm3 or kg; (5)	Month, year or lot number, of manufacture; (6)	Name of manufacturer or factory or registered trade mark; (7)	Country of manufacture.
