The Act regulates the production, processing, import and placing on the market of seed and propagating material of agricultural and horticultural plant species, prescribes conditions for carrying out activities of a supplier, responsibilities of a supplier, quality requirements and other conditions, which seeds and propagating materials shall meet, official checking of suppliers and official certification of seeds and propagating material, entering the varieties in the national catalogue of varieties, maintenance of varieties, supervision over carrying out the Act, prescribes official tasks and authorizations of responsible official bodies, prescribes measures that shall be taken by responsible official bodies, establishes an information system and regulates the exchange of data and information in the field seeds and propagating materials, regulates infringements ant penalties, transitional an final provisions.
