Description

This standard specifies the requirements for pipes with elastomeric sealing joints for outside diameters from 110 mm to 1000 mm and with solvent cement type joint for outside diameters from110 mm to 400 mm and the system of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC-U) piping system in the field of non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage for the transportation of soil and waste discharge of domestic and industrial origin, and surface water. It covers buried pipework but does not apply to piping system buried within the building structure. In the case of industrial discharges, chemical and temperature resistance have to be taken into account. It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this standard.  This standard is applicable to PVC-U pipes without a socket as well as pipes with an integral socket.
