Amendments to paragraphs 8.1, 8.2, 8.3 and 8.4 of NOM-046-SCFI-1999, as follows: "8.1  Marking of tape The following indications at least shall be printed clearly and indelibly on the graduated part of the tape: 	Name or symbol of manufacturer, importer or distributor; 	units of measurement in accordance with NOM-008-SCFI (see two references); 	units numbered in Arabic numerals; 	statement "MADE IN MEXICO" for domestically produced steel metric tape measures and flexometers, or indication of the country of origin in the case of imported steel metric tape measures and flexometers; 	type; 	model or prototype approval." 6. Description of content:  (cont'd) "8.2 Marking or labelling of casing The marking or labelling of flexometer casing and/or winders of long tape measures shall include at least the following indications: 	Maximum length of metric tape; 	name or symbol of manufacturer, importer or distributor; 	model; 	statement "MADE IN MEXICO" for domestically produced steel metric tape measures and flexometers, or indication of the country of origin in the case of imported steel metric tape measures and flexometers." "The following indications at least shall appear on the packaging that contains the finished product: 	Name or symbol of manufacturer, importer or distributor; 	model." "8.4  Packing Packaged metric tape measures and flexometers shall be packed in boxes that permit proper handling, storage and transportation and afford protection against corrosion.  The following indications at least shall appear on the boxes: 	Name or symbol of manufacturer, importer or distributor; 	number of units per box; 	model; 	domicile of manufacturer, importer or distributor; 	statement "MADE IN MEXICO" for domestically produced steel metric tape measures and flexometers, or indication of the country of origin for imported steel metric tape measures and flexometers."
