Description
The Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No.110) B.E.2531(1988) Re : Labelling for Meat Products dated 22 January B.E.2531(1988) is withdrawn. Good Manufacturing Practice shall be applied for production. In addition, this ministerial notification prescribes the following items: (1) Classification Meat products mean meat balls, sausage, fermented pork, minced pork, Chinese sausage and the like products packed in containers ready for sale. (2) Labelling of meat products shall be in accordance with the ministerial notification regarding labelling, except for Clause 3 of the Notification of Ministry of Public Health Health (No.194). (3) The label of meat products sold to consumers shall contain information, in Thai language but may be accompanied by foreign languages, on the name of food; food serial number; name and address of manufacturer, repacker or importer, as the case may be; net content in metric system; the statement “preservative used” (if any); date, month, year of manufacture, expiry date or date, month and year within which the food remains in good quality. Licences for food labelling issued prior to the enforcement of this ministerial notification will still be valid for not more than 2 years. Producers or importers who received licences prior to the enforcement of this ministerial notification must apply for food serial number within one year after this ministerial notification comes into force. Upon submitting the application, the former labels can still be valid for not more than 2 years.
