In connection with Articles 3, 4 and 5 of the Flora and Fauna Act and by way of implementation of the Community Decisions, Directives 79/409/EEG, 92/43/EEG, 83/129/EEG and Regulations EG/338/97, EG/939/97 and EG/3051/91 the present Regulation designates protected indigenous and exotic animal and plant species. With regard to animals and plants belonging to these species, the bans on the possession, transport and trade, included in Article 13 of the Flora and Fauna Act apply among others. These bans must be read in conjunction with the exemptions included in the Regulation exemption protected animal and plant species under the Flora and Fauna Act.
