Esta norma tiene por objetivo establecer la metodología de ensayo y análisis necesaria para la determinación de hidrocarburos presentes en productos líquidos del petróleo que destilan bajo los 315oC, que inciden en la caracterización de las gasolinas y otros combustibles livianos. Al no existir norma internacional, es idéntica a la norma ASTM D 1319-98 "Standard test method for Hydrocarbon types in liquid petroleum products by fluorescent indicator adsorption".
