Description

The Notification of Ministry of Public Health (No.30) B.E.2522 (1979 Butter dated 13 September 1979 is withdrawn.  Good Manufacturing Practice shall be applied for production of butter.  In addition, this ministerial notification prescribes the following items: 	(1)	Quality or standards: 	-	content of butterfat, milk solids non fat, sodium chloride and water;		free from rancid odour, preservatives, pathogenic microorganisms and toxin 	from microorganisms in the amount that may be harmful to health; 	-	permissible limit of lead, not exceeding 0.05 mg/1 kg of butter; 	-	permissible food additives, i.e. colours, acidity regulators; 		-	containers;	-	labelling. 	(2)	Licences for food registration or food labelling issued prior to the enforcement of this ministerial notification will be valid for 2 years. 	(3)	Producers or importers who received licences prior to the enforcement of this ministerial notification must apply for licences within one year after this ministerial notification comes into force.  Upon submitting the application, the former labels can still be valid for 2 years.
