Description

The Notification of Ministry of Public Health (No. 33) B.E.2522 (1979) Ice Cream dated 13 September 1979 and the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No. 101) B.E.2529 (1986) are withdrawn.  Good Manufacturing Practice shall be applied for production of ice cream.  In addition, this ministerial notification prescribes the following items: Classification:  Milk Ice Cream; Modified Ice Cream; Mixed Ice Cream; Ice Cream as defined in clause (a), (b) or (c) (liquid or dehydrated or powder type); Sherbet or water ice;  Processing time and temperature; Quality or standards, i.e. free from preservatives, Escherichia coli, pathogenic microorganisms and toxin from microorganisms in the amount that may be harmful to health; Containers; Labelling. Licences for food registration or food labelling issued prior to the enforcement of this ministerial notification will be valid for 2 years. Producers or importers who received licences prior to the enforcement of this ministerial notification must apply for licences within one year after this ministerial notification comes into force.  Upon submitting the application, the former labels can still be valid for 2 years.
