Description

Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) has proposed to enforce TIS 915-2543(2000) as mandatory standard.  The standard covers LPG cylinder valves for use with LPG cylinders sizes 0.5 to 200 kg or capacity from 1 to 500 dm3.  Classifies by opening and closing manner into 2 types, i.e. manually operated and clip-on types.  Specifies components, material and construction (e.g. body, valve, relief spring, rubber seal, inlet thread), manufacture of manually operated valve (e.g. outlet, gland nut, o-ring), lubricants.  Prescribes requirements for appearance, opening and closing manner (for manually operated type only), functioning of safety relief device, leakage, hydraulic pressure resistance, vibration resistance, resistance to opening and closing, strength (for manually type only), resistance to mercury (I) nitrate.  Includes marking, labelling, sampling and criteria for conformity, testing
