Description
Article 30m of the Betting and Gaming Act stipulates that gaming machines may only be manufactured or imported in the Netherlands if they are in accordance with a model authorised by the Minister for Economic Affairs. On the basis of Article 30n, paragraph 1 of the aforementioned Act, this model must comply with regulations given by or pursuant to general administrative regulation. These regulations (model authorisation requirements) have been laid down in the Gaming Machine Decree 2000 and the Gaming Machine Regulation 2000. The provisions relate, to a large extent, to technical standards with which the gaming machines must comply before they are authorised for the market by the Minister for Economic Affairs. Up to now, there have been three inspection establishments which test these technical standards. In the inspection protocol, for all articles which relate to the inspection of gaming machines, as mentioned in the Gaming Machine Decree 2000, the Gaming Machine Regulation 2000 and the Decision on Casino Games 1996, it shall be stated how these should be interpreted.
