The technical requirements pertain on the one hand to the designation of
flammable substances, substances which increase fire hazard and substances
which constitute a risk in the event of fire, the storage of which in a building
renders such building or a relevant part thereof a fire compartment. Fire
compartments are subject to fire-safety requirements issued by or pursuant to the
Buildings Decree. On the other hand, the technical requirement pertains to the
room aspect, which concerns the maximum formaldehyde content of the room in
question. As such, this requirement indirectly affects the application of
construction products which release formaldehyde.
