The notified draft Technical Regulation seeks to establish the minimum energy efficiency standard (MEPS) for lighting sources for domestic and similar general lighting uses in order to be marketed in the country. The purpose of this Technical Regulation is to promote the efficient use of energy, through provisions that establish the necessary measures and procedures for the minimum energy performance standard of lighting sources for use in the national territory, in order to reduce energy consumption, mitigate the effects of climate change, protect the environment, and care for the health and well-being of society.
