TITLE: Installation and Operation of Flightdeck Installed Physical Secondary Barriers on Transport Category Airplanes in [14 CFR] Part 121 ServiceAGENCY: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT)ACTION: Final ruleSUMMARY: This final rule implements a mandate in the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 by requiring that certain airplanes used to conduct domestic, flag, or supplemental passenger-carrying operations have installed a physical secondary barrier that protects the flightdeck from unauthorized intrusion when the flightdeck door is opened.Effective 25 August 2023.This final rule and the notice of proposed rulemaking notified as G/TBT/N/USA/1906 are identified by Docket Number FAA-2022-0772.
