Description
TITLE: Energy Conservation Program: Test Procedure for Commercial Warm Air FurnacesAGENCY: Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Department of EnergyACTION: Final ruleSUMMARY: The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is amending the Federal test procedures for commercial warm air furnaces (CWAFs) to incorporate the latest versions of the industry test standards that are currently incorporated by reference. Use of the newly established test procedure would become mandatory at such time as compliance with amended energy conservation standards based on TE2 is required, should DOE adopt such standards. DOE also is adopting additional specifications for CWAFs with multiple flue outlets or small flue outlets.DATES: The effective date of this rule is 3 July 2023. These amendments will be mandatory for CWAF equipment testing starting 28 May 2024. The incorporation by reference of certain material listed in this rule is approved by the Director of the Federal Register on 3 July 2023.This final rule and the notice of proposed rulemaking; announcement of public meeting notified as G/TBT/N/USA/1840 are identified by Docket Number EERE-2019-BT-TP-0041.
