Description

The Energy Policy and Conservation Actas amended ("EPCA"), prescribes energy conservation standards for various consumer products and certain commercial and industrial equipment, including consumer furnace fans. EPCA also requires the U.S. Department of Energy ("DOE") to periodically determine whether more-stringent, amended standards would be technologically feasible and economically justified, and would result in significant energy savings. In this notification of proposed determination ("NOPD"), DOE has initially determined that it could not conclude that amended standards would be cost effective, and thus, is not proposing to amend its energy conservation standards for these products. DOE requests comment on this proposed determination and the associated analyses and results.DOE will hold a webinar upon request. Please request a public webinar no later than 20 October 2023. See section VII, "Public Participation," for webinar registration information, participant instructions, and information about the capabilities available to webinar participants. Written comments and information are requested and will be accepted on or before 5 December 2023.This notification of proposed determination; request for comment and other actions notified under the symbol G/TBT/N/USA/863 are identified by Docket Number EERE-2021-BT-STD-0029.
