Description

Proposed rule - The Iowa Department of Education proposes removing rule language that recites statutory text, removing restrictive terms that do not contribute to health and safety, and removing obsolete or unnecessary requirements. The Department proposes adding rule language specific to buses with alternate fuel sources, such as electric buses (proposed subrule 44.3(25)). Even with this additional language, the Department’s proposal reduces the regulatory burden in this chapter.Any interested person may submit written or oral comments concerning this proposed rulemaking. Written or oral comments in response to this rulemaking must be received by the Department no later than 4:30 p.m.Central Standard Time (CST) on 27 February 2024.There will be an in-person public hearing on 27 February 2024 at the Grimes State Office Building in Des Moines, Iowa, from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon and 3:30 to 4 p.m. CST.
